What’s better than a clothing sale? Perhaps a clothing swap? I’ve always been intrigued by the massive clothing-swaps I’ve seen advertised in NYC, but the thought of a thousand women rummaging through each others bags of booty scared the crap out of me. Not to mention the cosmos they add to the mix. I feel anxious just thinking about it.

But the online clothing swap Swango takes the anxiety out of the equation. It’s free to join and — judging by the feedback of those already taking advantage — it’s super easy. Upload your own clothing or accessories (or your boyfriend/husband’s clothing that you’ve been dying to purge) to earn credits, then you can instantly begin “shopping” for new-to-you stuff. Each piece is a mere 99 cents, and a portion of that transaction fee is donated to the nonprofit organization Dignity U Wear, which provides new clothing to families in need. All in all, it’s a guilt-free (and anxiety-free) shopping trip.

(On a side note, the few times I’ve perused the site I haven’t found anything that jumped out at me to scoop up. But I think the more people who know about it and use it, the better the chance is that you’ll find a treasure that suites your taste!)
