I swear I’m not trying to rub in the fact that it’s ridiculously sunny and beautiful every day here. I’m just trying to help those of you in the cold have something to look forward to come Spring. (Really!)
They’re available in silver (shown), gold, and bronze. All will look appropriately lovely with pink painted toes.

So much sleeker than my current wallet, which looks and feels like a giant brick. A giant brick with errant receipts and business cards and gum wrappers spilling forth.
Thanks for the hot tip P!

Thanks, Megs, for the hot tip. Not only are they in my faves color (they also come in pink, kelly green, navy, khaki. . .) but they’re lined in seersucker. And they have a bow. Seriously, it could only get better if they came with a free bowl of Ben and Jerry’s.

This weekend Eric and I went to San Francisco for the first time. To say that we loved it would be an understatement. After moving from NYC to LA recently, we were so excited to be in a real city (no offense Megan. Or LA.) So we took advantage of the ridiculous weather (it was literally perfect) and walked. And walked and walked. Which is good, since we also ate our way through the Ferry Building. Anyway, this story has a point. My normally super comf J. Crew ballet flats were pushed to their limits and I ran into the Gap in dire need of some respite. I found the sweetest pair of kelly green gladiator-ish sandals with faux-tortoise chains on the front and snatched them up for $24.50. I’m sorry to say that I can’t find them online, but they had plenty of pairs in the store in every great Spring color (pink, yellow, navy, muted gold. . .) I also spied this twill tote and thought about all of the crap important stuff I can cart around. I fought off the urge to immediately purchase, however, because If I know the Gap like I think I do, it’ll go on sale in five minutes.

What’s better than a clothing sale? Perhaps a clothing swap? I’ve always been intrigued by the massive clothing-swaps I’ve seen advertised in NYC, but the thought of a thousand women rummaging through each others bags of booty scared the crap out of me. Not to mention the cosmos they add to the mix. I feel anxious just thinking about it.
But the online clothing swap Swango takes the anxiety out of the equation. It’s free to join and — judging by the feedback of those already taking advantage — it’s super easy. Upload your own clothing or accessories (or your boyfriend/husband’s clothing that you’ve been dying to purge) to earn credits, then you can instantly begin “shopping” for new-to-you stuff. Each piece is a mere 99 cents, and a portion of that transaction fee is donated to the nonprofit organization Dignity U Wear, which provides new clothing to families in need. All in all, it’s a guilt-free (and anxiety-free) shopping trip.
(On a side note, the few times I’ve perused the site I haven’t found anything that jumped out at me to scoop up. But I think the more people who know about it and use it, the better the chance is that you’ll find a treasure that suites your taste!)
