How many times has a perfectly pretty manicure gone to hell after you less-than-gracefully knock your hand against a door. And then it’s chipped and you look like Lohan or an Olsen twin with half-painted nails — which is to say nothing like the polished young lady you were before you got all clumsy. Or is it just me? Anyway, now I keep this little wonder in my bag, so when if I happen to scuff my paint I can take it all off (the polish) and still look like a lady.
The best thing about this dress, besides the fact that it feels like you’re wearing pajamas, is the over-the-top tennis crest on the front pocket. It can be pulled off as ironic, unless your name is Buffy.
This pretty little clutch bag will instantly add some feminine flair and vintage style to any old outfit you have stashed in your closet. And, at a price this low, you’ll have money left over to splurge on some shoes to match.

Sometimes, when I’m shopping at Target, I wonder why I love it so much. HA! Just kidding. I’m so excited that Sophie Albou, the brains behind the gorgeous Paul & Joe label, is the newest GO International guest designer. I can’t imagine wearing this fun owl as a pin — but only because I’m not a pin gal so much. I haven’t seen it in person yet, but I’m thinking I’ll attach it to a chain and wear it as a necklace. I’ve seen a very similar dress at a popular clothing place that shall remain nameless (Anthro*) for a lot more cash. Again, chic + easy = thank you Target.

I love pieces that up the chic factor without upping my time-getting-ready factor. With jeans and heels or ballet flats, it’s a great go-to for summer to fall weather. PS — I don’t have a particular thing for huge sleeves, it just so happens that there are two sharp, wide sleeve goodies in the collection. Just FYI.
I have to apologize for the lack of posts this week. For the past two years, I’ve been working at Teen People, and it sadly closed its doors on Tuesday. I’ll most likely continue to work in the media, but will miss dearly the brand, the people I worked with (amazing) and most especially, the built in excuse to care passionately about all things celebrity and teen. (“What’s going on with Lindsay Lohan and her extensive partying? I have to care, I work for Teen People.”) I’ll be back to posting this week, but just wanted to give a shout out to all my Teen Peeps.
As I’ve mentioned before, I have trouble buying even the cutest of slashed-price goody when the season is coming to an end — I’m way too interested in all the shiny new offerings of the moment. (And I call myself a bargain hunter. I’m truly ashamed.) But while the summer’s still raging on and a cool breeze seems less likely than Kevin Federline wearing a shirt with sleeves, this cotton dress is a steal. My two favorite things about it: 1. the cut-out back. 2. the fact that it will take me three and one-half seconds to get dressed in the morning. Two great reasons to part with 20 beans.
